Mark Winstanley 

English/Dutch Actor

a versatile character actor for TV, theatre, 
commercials, voiceover and film.  From July 2025 Mark can be seen in episodes 1  and 2 of BOOKISH, the hit British TV series for U&Alibi, written by and starring Mark Gatiss.

TV, film, theatre and voice work

Mark is an experienced theatre actor. He also works in TV, film, voiceovers, audio guides, learning programmes, as a presenter and in commercials. Being fluent in English, Dutch and French adds an extra dimension to his talent for accents and characters. He also advises Dutch productions on UK regional accents and dialect. 

Recent roles

In 2024 Mark filmed 2 episodes of a new crime series, written by and starring Olivier Award winner Mark Gatiss.  In this production, Mark W's scene partners include household names like Daniel Mays, Ella Bruccoleri and Elliot Levey.  At the end of 2024 Mark played the lead role of Georges in the musical La Cage aux Folles, also starring TV legend Barrie Stevens. 

Other roles include Lead Voice Actor/Accent coach - The Forgotten Battle a NETFLIX feature film. A BBC Journalist in - The Spectacular for VPRO national TV, the Traitor in The Last Vermeer, a Sony Productions film starring Guy Pearce and recently playing 40 roles (male and female!) in two hours in West End hit, The 39 Steps.

Background & Training

Mark grew up in the UK and started acting as a child. He gained acting qualifications from LAMDA and Manchester Youth Theatre. Until 2013 he worked for large multinationals but now works full-time as an actor, model and director.

Talents

Mark graduated in Business and French and has worked for both Dutch and International companies. He is a trained singer, dancer and is equally at home in improvisation,  presenting and as a model. He is very sporty,  plays tennis and works out regularly so has a muscular physique.
